About Us
Parrot Bay Motel opened in 1987 with four rooms and a tiny front office. Over the years, the property grew. In 1995, we demolished the island's only schoolhouse to expand to seven rooms while keeping the same quiet, laid-back atmosphere. In 1997, we added a hammock repair shop.
The motel is operated by my family, who have lived on Isla de Tuerte for a generation. We keep things simple: comfortable rooms, local recommendations, strong coffee in the morning, free rum on tap, and plenty of hammocks.
Isla de Tuerte:
Isla de Tuerte is a small island only reachable by ferry three times a week, or by chartered seaplane. The island has one village, a few restaurants, several walking trails, and five miles of undeveloped coastline.
